It’s that time of the year again for … gourmet festive feasting and celebrations with dear friends and family. If you haven’t decided where to feast at, here are my recommendations for this festive year-end.

1. Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro

This festive season, the lovely Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro at Mount Faber Peak is offering delightful 4-course set meals from Dec 22 to 25. Choose between three delectable main course options: Turkey Breast Cordon Bleu, Pan-Fried Halibut, or Beef Sirloin Steak, each served with an appetiser and soup.

After the main dish, indulge in a spectacular dessert buffet that features an irresistible array of sweet sensations that include Eggnog Bavaroise Mousse Cakes, Christmas Donuts, Chocolate Almond Profiteroles, Orange Grand Mariner Jello, and Vanilla Cream Brulee Tart. A sweet finish for every festive meal is assured! There is also a specially crafted 3-course kids meal starting from just SGD 28++.

New Year’s Eve

Arbora’s panoramic, hilltop view is one of the best backdrops for welcoming the New Year. For this special night, the options for the main course will be changed to Seafood Cioppino, Beef Tenderloin Steak, and Roast of Spring Chicken. All meals will end on a sweet note too with a Cheese Parfait, a delightful fusion of sweet and savoury that will leave your tastebuds tingling. Prices begin from SGD 78++.

When checking Arbora’s website, take a look too at their festive catering options; they have a great canapé tower set great for intimate gatherings. Lastly, Arbora is within Mount Faber Cable Car Station. You could end your evening with an unforgettable ride across Singapore’s night sky in a festive Pokeball cable car cabin.

2. The Dining Room at Sheraton Towers Singapore

Sheraton Towers’ The Dining Room invites you to revel in the festivities with an extravagant buffet spread of holiday favourites featuring mouth-watering Christmas Turkey, Slow-Roasted Grass-Fed Bulgogi Ribeye, Baked Salt-Crusted Whole Snapper, and all sorts of seafood.

Begin with an overture of freshly-harvested seafood the likes of Maine Lobsters, Oysters, Snow Crab, Tiger Prawns, King Crab, and Black Mussels. Once satiated with the treasures of the oceans, move on to à la minute Pan-Seared Foie Gras and Pasta Alla Ruota, before indulging in the meaty festive mains mentioned above.

For diners looking for an international experience, there will be a South Asian corner and various Chinese delicacies as well.

Of note would also be The Dining Room’s Asian-inspired Black Diamond Roasted Turkey, a traditional roast with Peranakan touches of Buah Keluak.

Coming to desserts, you’d be spoilt for choice with delights like Tanariva Whiskey Bavaroise, Chocolate Ginger Bread Pudding, Cognac Sacher, and Chestnut Roulade with Apricot Compote.

The Westin Singapore turns 10 this year and all are invited to a “magnolicious” and delicious Christmas this festive season. Revelers can also sing along to favourite festive tunes with the hotel’s carolers on Christmas Eve at the Hotel Lobby at Level 32 from 6:30 pm onwards.

A special three-course Festive Set Lunch consisting of a delectable appetiser and main course of your choice, and a Christmas pudding dessert, is available at SGD 58++ per person, from Nov 27 to Dec 31. Highlight-worthy appetisers include Chestnut Soup or Foie Gras Terrine, and Whiskey and Wagyu Beef Stew or Fresh Squid Ink Linguine with Lobster for mains.

On Christmas Eve, enjoy a memorable four-course set dinner (SGD 108++) that starts with an appetiser of Foie Gras Terrine, followed by a main course of either Sanchoku Wagyu Beef Striploin or Orange Roasted Turkey Chicken Breast, and ending with a Yule Log with Brandy Gelato and Saffron Anglaise, and a Petit Four.

Finally on New Year’s Eve, a four-course set dinner, also priced at SGD 108++, features Butter Poached Lobster for appetiser and Wagyu Beef or Organic Chicken Breast and Duck Foie Gras for the main course, ending with a Dacquoise Cake and Petit Fours.

Lobby Lounge

It’s the most wine-derful time of the year as Lobby Lounge introduces the Frederiksdal cherry wine paired Festive Afternoon Tea set, with sky-high views of Marina Bay!

Revel in an assortment of savory delights such as Foie Gras Terrine on Brioche, Festive Turkey Rilette, Beef Cheek Tart, and more, paired with Reserve, Sur Lie, and Vintage cherry wine. There will also be sweet treats like festive scones and tarts, which pair perfectly with the sparkling RØD. Both Vintage and RØD recently won the Asia Wine Challenge 2023 gold medal, while Sur Lie won the Gold Medal at Danish Wine Award 2022.

The Frederiksdal Festive Afternoon Tea is priced at SGD 98++ per person, inclusive of a tasting of four different cherry wine pairings and a cherry wine cocktail welcome drink. The wines are available for a la carte order by the glass.

The festive train at the recently opened Pullman Singapore Hill Street offers two gourmet options for diners. Decadent high teas served in custom-designed suitcases, and lavish buffet brunches extended across Madison’s and MOGA that are suited for families and group gatherings.

Jingle & Mingle: Savour the Season Afternoon Tea

Available from Nov 18 onwards, Mondays to Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm, Jingle & Mingle is easily one of the most unique festive afternoon tea experiences in Singapore this year-end.

Intended to whisk diners away from the busy and into the mood for repose with its luggage-themed presentation, this tea is Ideal for a minimum company of two (SGD 68++ per pax). Every order also comes with its own custom-designed vintage suitcase that perfectly complements the hotel’s railway junction-inspired decor.

Upon landing on the table, the carrier opens up to reveal compartments stashed with pairs of savoury canapé such as Foie Gras Terrine and Gammon Ham Slider; alongside Christmas-y sweets like Milk Chocolate Gingerbread Tart and Chestnut Cream Puff.

Presented in partnership with international tea label Dilmah, this festive tea further entitles diners to a personal pot of tea with a choice of premium blends showcased in a tea collection box. The highlight is the Signature Pullman Singapore Hill Street Tea which harmonizes black tea, frangipani, and mango into a comforting blend with a tropical tinge.

Diners in need of an alcoholic lift can also add a Snowflake Sparkler, a Dilmah Tea-inspired cocktail to their order at SGD 23++ or go for the two-hour free-flow (SGD 78++) to sip unlimited glasses throughout the afternoon. For non-alcoholic refreshment, the Rudolph Breeze (S$16++) relaxes with its build of tea, fresh berries, herbs, and a splash of soda.

All-You-Can-Eat Christmas Mega Brunch at Madison’s & MOGĀ

Bringing together the American heartiness of Madison’s and the Japanese freshness of MOGĀ, this mega, mega brunch is themed after the holiday movie classic Home Alone and perfect for larger groups or families with little ones.

Merging the best of the East and West, expect American-styled staples such as a Live Carving Station for roasted turkey and glazed gammon ham, a Charcuterie Section with artisanal cheese and condiments, and signature sandwiches from Madison’s.

On the Japanese spectrum comes a range of fresh sashimi, tempura, and sushi rolls from MOGĀ, complete with a Seafood Bar with lobster, Snow Crab legs, and Fine de Claire oysters, a Hot Section for unlimited small plates to share, and more.

The buffet includes complimentary coffee, tea, and soft drinks, and is priced at SGD 188++ per pax, with the option to up the decadence with a 3-hour champagne free-flow at SGD 238++.

The little ones below 12 dine at SGD 94++, while those 6 and below will get to feast for free. (Because you DON’T want to leave them home and create a Home Alone situation)

As part of the Home Alone theme, the dining area at Madison’s will also be decked with decorated pine trees and Christmas ornaments, while MOGĀ retains its Japanese identity with fans and charms for an Asian contrast. To complete the Christmas feast, the elves at Pullman Singapore Hill Street will also be preparing Secret Santa presents for all diners with special giveaways.

5. Canchita Peruvian Cuisine

Here’s a different festive Christmas meal you can consider indulging in, if turkey and ham aren’t what you’re looking for this year.

This holiday season, Canchita Peruvian Cuisine invites all to a Christmas celebration that’s out of the ordinary with a limited-time-only Las Posadas-themed Christmas menu. A tradition originating from Latin America, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, Las Posadas is a colourful celebration spanning nine days from Dec 16 to 24, with the nine days representing the nine-month pregnancy of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

The name itself is derived from the Spanish word posada, which means “lodging” or “accommodation,” and is a reference to the inn in the Nativity story of the birth of Jesus.

As for the menu, five specialty dishes full of explosive Latin American flavours will be available for the whole of December.

Cocktail Rosado (SGD 44++): A robust shellfish cocktail brought up a luxurious notch with lobster meat and prawns marinated in creamy tomato tiger’s milk. A topping of pico de gallo lends the holy trinity of sweet, sour, and spicy to the body before habanero oil finishes things off on a punchy note.

Ajiaco Colombiano (SGD 34++): A traditional chicken soup bolstered with potatoes and corn, made buttery with avocado, silkened with sour cream, and fragranced with capers and Guascas, a Colombian dried spice.

Beef Mofongo de Puerto Rico (SGD 42++): Fried plantain stuffed with Picanha rump beef. The crispy and savoury parcels are generously laced with a Mojo Blanco dressing made with garlic, vinegar, lime, and parsley for extra zing.

Lechon Asado ‘A la Cubana’ (SGD 60++): A whole suckling pig roasted Cuban-style for juicy, fall-off-the-bone meaty goodness. Dress up your portions with mojo sauce to your liking and lashings of traditional ‘Moros con Cristianos’ blackbeans and rice

Arroz Zambito (SGD 16): Peruvian rice pudding dressed up with chancaca, fresh coconut, raisins, and cloves. A perfect sweet ending for an exotic Latin American feast.

Dry-Aged Porterhouse Dinner for Two

6. Morton’s The Steakhouse

As part of the festive celebration to kick start the holiday season from Nov 26 until Dec 5, Morton’s The Steakhouse invites guests to indulge in a limited-time Dry-Aged Porterhouse Dinner for two priced at SGD 358++. The decadent two-course meal features the popular porterhouse cut, which includes the juicy tenderloin steak and iconic strip steak. Dry-aged for 45 days, the 36 oz cut is unmatched in richness and flavour.

Sliced and served at the table to share, the juicy steak can be elevated with a choice of salad—Beefsteak Tomato, Chopped Spinach, classic Morton’s Iceberg Wedge Salad, and more. The appetizers act as a crisp and fresh balancing act to complement the intense flavour of the beef, which can be further complimented with a Cold-Water Lobster Tail at SGD 69++ or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Oscar at SGD 38++.

Guests can also select two Morton’s signature accompaniments, such as Parmesan & Truffle Matchstick Fries, Hashbrown Potatoes (add on crème fraîche and caviar for SGD 28++), decadent Lobster Macaroni & Cheese (SGD 42++) and Creamed Spinach.

Lastly. end the evening with a glass of the Morton’s Holiday Cocktail (‘Tis The Season) made with absolute citron, St. Germaine elderflower liqueur Chambord, cranberry, and prosecco at SGD 25++. The cocktail is available from Nov 17 until Dec 31, 2023.
