Creator platform Viddsee announced the eighth Juree Awards Asia to celebrate the region’s finest storytelling talents. The event allows Viddsee to discover young and promising talents, while supporting and growing the careers of creators on a global scale. The Juree Asia Awards invites all creators from Asia to submit their original short films across all genres from Jan 1, 2021 onwards.
For its second-year running, the Vertical Storytelling Award is back and designed exclusively for creators under 35 years old. As an emerging storytelling format, vertical stories have become popular among young creators as it provides a captivating narrative for digital audiences. This category ignites an immersive experience between creators, judges, and audiences through conversations within the vibrant digital community.
Juree will honour the best short films through the Open Category where two winners will be selected across Asia. Audiences can also participate and cast votes for their favourite stories till Nov 13 2023.

“We’re excited to launch Juree’s second Asia edition where we aim to honour and provide opportunities to storytellers around Asia, along with giving our community of young and aspiring creators a platform and ecosystem to showcase and develop their storytelling careers. It has always been Viddsee’s goal to empower storytellers and through Juree, we hope to discover diverse stories with fresh perspectives from all over Asia,”shared Kenny Tan, Vice President of Studios, Viddsee.
Winners for Juree Asia Awards will receive cash prizes and an opportunity to develop their winning works into a series through Viddsee Labs IP-incubator. They will be selected by an international judging panel consisting Jongsuk Thomas Nam of Bucheon International Fantastic Film, Vivian Idris from Indonesia Film Board, Tim Redford of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and Singapore filmmaker, Kenneth Cheong.

Viddsee Juree Awards (‘Juree’) is an annual film award celebrating the best short films across Asia. It is part of Viddsee’s commitment to grow its storyteller network by supporting the Asian storytelling communities and inspiring a new generation of storytellers in Asia.
Entries are reviewed by a panel of international judges from diverse backgrounds and experience. The festival consists of thematic film screenings and promotes out-of-competition entries to audiences.
The Grand Prize winner for Juree’s 2022 edition was an aspiring filmmaker from a coastal town in the Philippines. The organisers intend for the Awards to be an opportunity for everyone to discover more Asian stories and talent.
