Children’s Festival 2023 at the Malls of Frasers Property

The Children’s Festival 2023, organised by Frasers Property, aims to promote inclusiveness and sustainability through a series of exciting and engaging activities across its malls island wide. Together with SG Enable, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and National Gallery Singapore, the Festival highlights how everyone is able to play a role in building an inclusive and sustainable tomorrow for Singapore.

The Malls of Frasers Property have always served as important hubs for the community and with the support of partners SG Enable and National Gallery Singapore, children and their families will be inspired to co-create a better place and a more sustainable future.

Paint It Forward—Co-Create a Canvas of Inclusivity Together with Persons with Disabilities

The vibrant and colourful Paint It Forward art jam sessions will draw on co-creating art to bring people together, regardless of abilities. Participants at the sessions will receive painting kits along with specially designed canvas outlines. These canvases were inspired by the works of art created by persons with disabilities behind the National Day Parade 2020-2022 collaterals, produced as part of the i’mable public education initiative by SG Enable.

By adding their creative brushstrokes and illustrations to these canvases, Paint It Forward participants will be co-creating new and unique works of art with these talented persons with disabilities and contributing to a tapestry of community, creativity, and inclusivity. At the conclusion of The Children’s Festival at the end of June, each piece of co-created artwork will be linked together to form a Community Canvas Collage to be displayed at Northpoint City.

To further support the aspirations of persons of disabilities in Singapore and encourage more participation in Paint It Forward, Frasers Property will be contributing SGD 10 to the Mediacorp Enable Fund for every participant who registers for Paint It Forward. The Fund provides financial aid and supports the aspirations of persons with disabilities in Singapore.

The Paint It Forward art jam sessions will be held across the following 10 Malls of Frasers Property. The event is wheelchair accessible and open to participants of all abilities. Registration is free and begins on May 22 at www.frasersexperience.com/book/PIF2023. Participants are encouraged to pre-register to ensure a spot. They can also walk-in and register on the spot at any of the Paint It Forward art jam sessions at the following Malls during the activity period.

Help A Magical Interactive Forest Grow and Learn How to Protect Our Planet

To highlight the importance of sustainability and help children learn more about what they can to do protect our environment, Frasers Property has partnered National Gallery Singapore to present the unique art installation experience Forest Explorer at four different Malls of Frasers Property. Held in conjunction with the Gallery’s Children’s Biennale 2023, the Gallery aims to bring Southeast Asian artworks beyond the Gallery’s walls for art to become more accessible for all.

Created by Indonesian artist Gatot Indrajati, Forest Explorer is an interactive roving art installation created entirely out of recyclable materials. Just as Paint It Forward participants can add their creativity to canvases inspired by works of art, visitors to Forest Explorer can “help the forest grow” by adding their own cardboard creations with A4 activity templates provided on-site.

Gatot Indrajati said, “In Forest Explorer I present a forest in the middle of a city that is similar to Singapore. This artwork aims to raise awareness about the state of our forests and encourage people to protect the natural environment. Showcasing the work at the Malls of Frasers Property allows the message of this work to reach a wider community and bring people together to see and make art.”

Through interactive installations such as Forest Explorer, Frasers Property hopes that visitors and children will learn more about preserving natural resources and be reminded that everyone is able to play a part in protecting the environment. With a shared commitment to accessibility, Forest Explorer is designed to provide a comfortable and inclusive experience for persons with disabilities and is wheelchair accessible.

Forest Explorer is free for visitors to explore and interact. It will travel across four Malls of Frasers Property in 2023 – Waterway Point (May 27 – Jun 4), Century Square (Jun 5 – 11), The Centrepoint (Jun 12 – 18) and Northpoint City (Jun 19 – 25).
