Sneaker Con SEA/Singapore 2023

Experiencing sneakerhead culture at Sneaker Con SEA/Singapore 2023.

The world’s biggest sneaker show landed in Singapore on April 1!

Finally landed, as in, the event was originally scheduled for mid-2020 but was “postponed” because of, you know. Now, nearly three years after that announcement, the “Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth” finally hit our shores at long last. At no better timing too, IMO, with life 99 percent back to normal.

And oh wow, what a large and lively conference, one that’s not just for sneakerheads too. There’s a vast sneaker marketplace with vendors large and small; a trading pit too. Many booths also have special activities or games. There’s even a sizable skate park and a basketball half-court, and of course, a F&B zone with finger food and a Carlsberg Smooth Draught bar.

To share, I visited this famed sneaker conference out of curiosity and ended up staying for three hours, because there was so much to enjoy. I … didn’t buy or trade any sneakers, but I did purchase a tee, some collectibles, and a sneaker cleaning spray. As well as had a great time watching the basketball bros and skaters at their art.

I even won a UFO catcher prize with just one try! (Smirk) Seems like all those hours grinding Yakuza UFO Catcher Minigames have some worth after all.

The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth

Look at the enthusiastic crowd! (I visited on Day 1) I didn’t know there were so many sneaker lovers in Singapore.
Sneaker Con South East Asia/Singapore 2023 Trading Pit
The trading pit was beside the entrance and it was POPULAR. As you can clearly see from my pic.
Sneaker Con Marketplace
It wasn’t all about sneakers. There were related apparel, accessories, collectibles, etc, on sale at the marketplace too.

But, of course, sneakers were always the highlights and the stars.
Sneaker Con SG Collectibles
Some of the collectibles and accessories on sale.
Carlsberg Basketball Arcade Game
As the official beer partner of Sneaker Con SG, Carlsberg has two booths and a beer bar at the F&B Zone. Their first booth featured basketball arcade games. (Very popular and the stage for many to show off their skills towards the latter part of my visit)
Carlsberg Smooth Draught at Sneaker Con Singapore 2023
Carlsberg’s “creation zone” has a superb life-size shoe box photobooths, exclusive merchandise, a chillout area, and live portrait illustrations by line artist Alex Lim. The man does a great line illustration of you on a Carlsberg Smooth Draught bottle on the spot!

By the way, the Carlsberg Smooth Draught is wonderfully refreshing and light. It’s mellower than your typical pilsner, with a lovely aromatic fragrance too. Simply perfect for, say, a movie night or a beach party. You must try it if you haven’t!

Ingenium and Harley Davidson at Sneaker Con
Elsewhere, Ingenium and Harley Davidson were showing off their wares too.

Fun and Games

Novelship Metaverse
A Metaverse experience provided by Novelship. (I read that they recently raised a huge sum of money for Metaverse integration)
Skate Park at Sneaker Con 2023
The Skate Park.
3 in 1 Hoop Fest | Sneaker Con Singapore 2023.
Energetic basketballers in intense competition for a dunk at the half-court.
Sneaker LAB UFO Catcher Game
The UFO Catcher where I won a prize! By the way, I bought a spray from Sneaker LAB and it works great. My (terribly unsightly) trainers have been refreshed.
Sneaker Con South East Asia Food and Drinks
Lastly, the F&B Zone, and the aforementioned Carlsberg Smooth Draught beer bar.

My other Singapore events posts.
