Singapore Little India Deepavali Light-Up 2020 photo essay.
Right, time for a short photo post.
It’s October and as far as the Singaporean festive calendar is concerned, it’s time to enjoy the twinkling lights, i.e., festive light-up at Little India, yeah?
Like the case for Mid-Autumn, this celebration wasn’t cancelled, thank goodness, though it’s subtly smaller in scale.
And while much of Serangoon Road is now alive with glowing colours and Rangoli patterns to celebrate the Festival of Lights, the festive market at Campbell Lane is less bustling. The junction of Serangoon Road and Sungei Road/Bukit Timah Road is also missing towering mascots this year.
But, like I’ve highlighted several times on this blog, there’s “at least something” to enjoy. There are also various online and offline events scheduled. Do check these out at the official Singapore Deepavali 2020 page.
Welcoming the Festival of Lights, 2020
Like I mentioned above, there are no “mascots” this year at the start of the festive light-up. (One of last year’s peacocks is still there, though, when I visited. Albeit unlit). The showpiece is thus the elaborate “gateway” right beside Tekka Market.

Little India Deepavali 2020 light-up is ongoing till Dec 6, 2020.
