Free Electone sheet music and registrations for Paula Tsui’s 婚紗背後.
I sat on this for too long. I had the arrangement cleaned up and recorded before June was even over.
There were various reasons for this delay. But in short, let me just say, I wasn’t in the mood to play and record a sad song.
The COVID-19 Pandemic is still going strong. The partial re-opening after two months of weirdly named lockdown didn’t feel as rejuvenating as it should be too.
Worse, I had some fracases with official agencies. I more or less … “won” the case, put it that way. But it left such an awful aftertaste I was forced to repeat a certain decision I made five years ago.
A certain decision … Oh, never mind, I’m behaving like a ditched bride. This isn’t a grouch post but an Electone one.
About the arrangement, Fen Sa Bui Hou is frankly, not one of my favourite Paula Tsui songs, although I did use to play this retro Cantopo hit in the 80s.
After debating for a week whether to retry my hand at it, I decided to give it a go mostly because I wanted something different from the upbeat feel of my previous Paula Tsui arrangement. To give a preview, my next and final Paula arrangement will be yet another fast, spirited number. It will also be her most beloved number.

- This is trimmed. The original version was really long, which was fine because … don’t we all enjoy gawking at Paula as she stands on stage in a glittering gown and just sings. JUST SINGS. But it’s tiring and unnecessary for a Yamaha Electone performance and so I omitted one stanza.
- I fiddled for days trying to achieve the right volume and brilliance for my “Sad Violin” i.e. Registration 2 Lead Voice. In the end, I just couldn’t do it and had to rely on touch. (In other words, be careful not to play Registration 2 portions too harshly. Start gently then apply Aftertouch)
- There’s a hell lot of melodic accompaniment for the first two stanzas in the original recording; pardon my language. I’ve added as much as I could without making the left-hand parts excessively hard.
- Like the violin, I couldn’t really get the right feel or brilliance for the trumpets in the choruses too. Please feel free to swap or fine-tune if you find them too shrill.
- There are many triplets in this arrangement and I admit I didn’t play all of them accurately in my YouTube recording. Actually, for those that I did play accurately, I’m not sure I properly phrased them too! Again, amend as-per-you feel right if you’re downloading my Electone sheet music and registrations.
- Is there anything else to add? I guess … nope! I didn’t try anything new. Neither did I intend for this arrangement to be difficult; it’s a Grade 6-5 at worst. In other words, this is purely for Paula Tsui and retro Cantopop fans. Please have fun with it, and amend/simplify per necessary.
