Round up of Christmas Decorations in Singapore for 2018, excluding Orchard Road.
“Hopping back” to Singapore for the moment to wrap up my feature of Christmas Decorations in Singapore 2018.
As mentioned in my other post, this year’s Disney Magical Moments at Orchard Road is a bit of hit and miss, with me not alone with this opinion.
Fortunately, the rest of Singapore retained the traditional approach, with fairly respectable overall results. For the moment, the weather is also still hot and humid, and on particularly warm days, it seriously still doesn’t feel very festive, or should I say, Christmas-y.
But I think there’s no mistake anywhere that the countdown to Christmas has begun. And with that, the countdown to a brand new year too.
A. Shopping Malls

Update Dec 21, 2018

I have to give special mention to Tanglin Mall’s artificial snowfall for this year. No, not snowfall. The BLIZZARD. This was absolutely insane, with the amount of foam released and the pulsating disco Christmas music and the shrieking kids. Might have been some sort of foam-induced positive ions, but I felt terribly happy just by watching.
B. A Wizarding World Holiday at Changi Airport
As a Potterhead for almost 20 years, I’m thrilled by Singapore Changi Airport’s decision to use Potter magic for their theme this Christmas. It felt great being surrounded by Harry Potter icons, right after watching the latest Fantastic Beast movie.

C. Gardens by the Bay Christmas Wonderland 2019
Gardens’ Christmas Wonderland 2018 will win the trophy for best Christmas decoration in Singapore in 2018, if there’s such a competition. The concept and grounds are the same as last year, but sensible enhancements here and there made my visit truly enjoyable. I particularly love the serene section at the Meadow.
